Located on Sand Key, the Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites launched an “Ultimate Spring Break Countdown” on social media to promote their hotel as the best Spring Break destination in Florida.

In order to identify what families look for in the “Ultimate Vacation,” the Clearwater Beach Marriott crowdsourced their social communities using graphics overlaid with Facebook Reactions. Based on the Facebook reactions selected, Clearwater Beach Marriott identified the adventures that were most popular among the voting Facebook audience.

Following the Launch of the photo poll, a Facebook offer went live with a social media-exclusive Spring Break package featuring some of the most popular adventures, as selected by the community.

The offer was carefully targeted to parents in local drive markets who were looking for Spring break ideas as well as families in feeder markets who were looking for warm beach destinations for their Spring Break destination.

The campaign is proving to be extremely successful for Clearwater Beach Marriott and so far has resulted in:

  • Increased awareness and consideration of Clearwater Beach Marriott as the perfect Spring break destination for families
  • Increased Facebook and Instagram due to successful interaction on Facebook polls
  • Clearwater Beach Marriott’s Website is seeing increased traffic due to Facebook offer
  • Initial Campaign Results:
    • 15K users reached
    • 250 engagements and counting
